This thread contains a list of as many websites as possible that fall under the category of Adoptable virtual pets. For different types of virtual pets, please see the other directories in the other boards. If you know of any websites not on this list, please post below with as many as you can. If a website does not have a topic for members to discuss things on this website, feel free to create one.
A website can be considered for this directory if it playable (no glitches) and has enough content to be considered active (regardless of the last known update). Please do not submit new websites with no content. An administrator may add their own website as long as it meets the above requirement.
EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK (includes many different types of virtual pets or adoptable objects)
FAN FICTIONAL (virtual pets based upon other people's concepts)
FANTASY (mythological, fake or fantasy virtual pets)
INANIMATE OBJECTS (allows you to adopt inanimate objects such as plants, rocks, etc)
ORIGINAL SPECIES (virtual pets based off of the creator's own concepts)
REAL ANIMALS (virtual pets that exist in real life)
